(P.S. If you know you won't finish your knitted gifts, maybe you'd like to send the new shirt in the shop, which I dedicate to Rabbitch with love. Secondarily, I dedicate it to the reader who told my work has been too cutesy lately.)

What about the birthday present I started in January '05 for a September '05 birthday that is still missing its lower half? Where's my birthday ghost? Or has that ghost just moved into all of our places and set up camp in the corner? Beware of ghosts.
I hope you have, at least, started IT. I'm still deciding what IT will be and what color IT will be made out of (or learn not to end a sentence with a preposition).
Well even my non-knitting friend found that to be really funny! That was a good one - thanks.
I'm almost done my Christmas knitting (*duck!*)
ROFLROFL - ok, are you sending a special mug with this one to Stephanie? ;)
At least you can't be worse than me, Franklin. I once gave a friend three gifts, saying, "Merry Christmas 1999, 2000, and 2001!" This was in 2004 or so. Luckily she's a really good - and patient - friend.
(Seriously, I don't stress about deadlines. With clinical depression, I'm doing good if I get out of bed!)
Oh my GOD! That must be on a shirt. I'll wear it to the yarn store's Yawn Over, where we try to finish out Christmas projects. It's hopeless, but we give it a shot.
That ghost sure gets around. He visited me last night as well...
I started in August. And have 3 sweaters, complete... except for the sewing up. Which I'll get to... eventually. My husband is still waiting for his christmas present from 5 years ago, which needs 3/4 of a sleeve. My daughter and son-in-law got cards in their stockings last year that said "I owe you 1 pair of socks, Love Mom." DD got hers on New Years, SIL got his in April, just in time for warm weather.
Starting in June does not preclude visits from the Ghost of Christmas Knitting saying "are you ever going to finish those?"
So that is why I slept uneasy last night. The ghost must have been traveling west and hit St. Paul after Chicago.
Oh dear.
I love the look of the ghost!
I'm only knitting one present this year and it still stresses me out.
that needs to be a t-shirt! done on red or green, lol, to suit the holidays! rofl!
Hahahahaha! Ha! ha .... very nice, Franklin.
Sadly, though, still no baby clothes in the shop.
I shall be proud to wear that. Thank you, dear.
I have a question I have been meaning to ask you about your art. As far as drawing and cartooning go, have you always had a natural talent for drawing or did you have to study art in the form of classes to hone your abilities? I'm just curious because even your self confessed doodles are lovely!
I think I'm going to make it.. I need 9 pairs of socks by christmas (11 would be better but 9 will do) and another 11 pairs by 1/4 (10 will do).. and I've got 7.75 of the 9 done and.. 6.5 of the 11.. I think I can I think I can.. but I don't know why I'm sitting here telling you this instead of sitting there knitting that .75 sock..
the magic word today is tsdues.. toomany socks due(too)soon.
I love the new prison shirt. I love my "I have two needles" one for the same noncutesy reason.
Franklin-
I love the cute and the un-cute...just keep on drawing! And, what a scary dream...I know because I have been having it for the past week! But, what I really need to do is just finish the gifts that I have already started instead of thinking of new ones...oy vey!
Yup, I was visited too. So why was it exactly that I agreed to make a pair of socks for a friend to give his wife for Christmas? Why...? Oi. Excuse me. I have to get back to the knitting...
You are hilarious!
oh man! that's the first time i've laughed all day.
smooch
I love you!!
Franklin, you are such an original!
But no "I learned to play the hammered dulcimer in prison"?
Why not?
That's your best t-shirt yet. I'm getting one.
That shirt's phenomenal! I'm definitely going to have to get one now.
I've got two half-finished Chirstmas socks (both a part of two different pairs). I suspect the ghost's going to haunt me about tonight
I love the new tshirt! I hope it stays in the shop till after christmas, when I can hopefully afford it.
Heh. Try the ghost of "what the hell am I gonna wear to the company Christmas party?"
I'm with you, up the creek, sans paddle.
Hey, I know that ghost!
Love the prison shirt. I'd wear that one in the gym on squat/leg day.
The ghost is surely around here! The prison shirt is funny. And not. Unless you really did. In which case you probably have rotten teeth.
that shirt is awesome. I think I might just have to buy one for that rabbitch and use it as an excuse to go up for a visit over the holidaze!
I just e-mailed Sonya to see if I could wear that on my Knitty Gritty show.....I love it. As soon as I grab my CC I'm getting one. Totally kick-ass.
Howled, again. And now, so going to get that for my boss at the yarn store, holy shit.
I'm seriously contemplating wrapping up a bunch of single mittens and in-progress UFOs this year and saying "Here. Imagine it in February."
Kate
Hey, what does your name mean?
Marly
Hee hee hee hee hee. You've nailed it. That's exactly where I am today.
Not too cutesy at all. Perfectly cute.
When you work Saturdays in a yarn shop, and you swear that you're not going to do any Christmas knitting, then the balls of yarn start talking to you about how they want to be mittens, or slippers or a toque for your dad.
And then, all hell breaks loose and you walk home with a stash of yarn for Christmas knitting.
Forget the ghost, it's those damned skeins that will get you every time!
Franklin, you rock.
That is PERFECT.
Delightful.
I am so buying that for my prison knitting friend...but he can't get it until he gets paroled- no tshirts with writing on them allowed in the clink.
I didn't know dude from "The Scream" got a new gig as ghost of Christmas knitting.
Awesome shirts!
Dude! You're a Buddhist, why are you worried about this? While you still may have profound respect and love for Christ, you needn't play into the dogmatic culture of materialism that has come to be known as Chrstmas.
Shouldn't that be The Ghost of Christmas Presents?
Franklin, I too am sooo behind in my Christmas knitting. I have been known to wrap up the unfinished project (complete with needles intact), a picture of the finished item and a good laugh. My family thinks its way too funny (they know how many hours I work per week). My sister said once that it was greaet because it makes Christmas last longer. Go figure
Ok, so I love this cartoon! Good job!
I've solved this problem, although I wouldn't recommend it . . . I cut off the right edge tip of my left thumb while slicing potatoes with a mandolin. The whole tip of my thumb switches between throbbing or being numb. Again, I wouldn't recommend it, but then again, all my knitting is now sitting in a pile on my chair . . . not being finished by Christmas!
I would like a pattern of Santa Claus or father christmas about three feet high. Thank you
Wow, there is a great deal of useful data above!
