Hi, kids.
Writing from Detroit. Yes, Detroit. Forgot to mention I'm out of town briefly for a family wedding. One of my cousins on the Dago side is marrying a Greek. This should be some party.
I'll check in again when it's all over, and report on what the bride wore and the final body count and so on.
People are in a bad mood around here. Something about losing a baseball game.
They should knit more.

I completely forgot about that whole baseball thing going on. Just don't get yourself in the middle of a street riot - even if it is part of the wedding.
Oh, and pictures, take some good pictures.
Let me know if you catch the bouquet.
hoo boy, "my big fat greek/italian wedding" played out in real life.
food as far as the eye can see.
enjoy!

Tarentella meets Ho-pah! Have fun.
Oh yeah, that's what they get for tearing down Tiger Stadium.
You want I should knit you a bat?
Oh, wait, you're a Buddhist. No violence. Nevermind, sweetie...
you sure you're not there to watch your team lose to my team??
congrats to your cousin!
Opa!!! Will you get to throw wine glasses into the fireplace?? I've always wanted to do that...
Wow Italy meets Greece! Tell me about the food!
Ouzo and Grappa at the same feast. Yowza! Have fun, Franklin, but stay sane enough to keep an eye on Delores...
city knits;)
and I knit while ignoring the games..loved the piece on Cast on. That's y kind of halloween story.
Kaliohexie! Or, buona fortuna or whatever the other side would say. Hey, if you survive that wedding without someone trying to marry you off, too (yes, yes, fine, you're gay, but I know the nicest girl...)....do let me know how!!!

(PS - incidentally, my verification word was "ithkkvko", which I think may actually mean something in our language...it's probably yet another way of saying either "Here, eat something," or, "you're HOW OLD?" in Greek...it's like how the Eskimos have 37 words for snow...)
Baseball? What's baseball? Oh, people knit "mits" for that or something, right?
My Cliffy moment ...
"I confetti" at an Italian wedding are sugar-coated almonds. Guests toss little baggies of these at the bride and groom. They are said to represent the bitter-sweetness of life.
Remind Dolores to sign the guestbook!

Sheesh. I come to Chicago for the weekend and you go to Detroit. Life just isn't fair.
Does every one eyeball each other until the wine flows???
What a smart and engaging blog, glad I found it, this is a gem. A small plea for knitting help is a secondary reason for this comment...I find myself with quite a stash of Koigu and no mens vest patterns in sight. I see a "Koigu vest on the needles" mentioned here, can't find a pic anywhere on the blog -- would you be so kind as to share?
So is the bride Greek or the groom, Franklin? Enjoy the "big fat Greek/Italian wedding!" Please make Dolores stay at home. We don't want to have any international incidents... just saying! Greeks do have this thing about lamb. Although she should be safe until Easter...

Loved your essay on Cast-On. You have such a soothing voice.
And you didn't tell us where we could knit up with you? For shame!

There wouldn't be any Biolchini relatives floating around there, would there? My boss's family is in Detroit. He didn't mention a wedding, but you never know.
Hope you had a great time!
WONDERFUL performance on Cast-On!
(My tag line is "Quoth the Maven, 'Knit some more!'")
FFFFFRAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKLIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNN!
dolores's email doesn't work!
Dahling, will you be attending

I hope to see you there.
Loved 'The Romney' on Cast-on....a new classic for the Halloween season!

I not to mention my guys have already been viewing the great guidelines located on your site and then instantly developed an awful suspicion I had not thanked the web blog owner for those strategies. All of the ladies were for this reason happy to see all of them and have in effect seriously been loving them. Thanks for turning out to be indeed kind and also for opting for this sort of fantastic resources most people are really wanting to discover. Our honest regret for not expressing gratitude to you earlier.
