A Salute to My Hero

Happy sixtieth, Pop. This one's for you.

We'll be off to Indiana this weekend to wish you many happy returns in person. Dolores says she has some kind of commemorative dance prepared for you.

I cannot be held responsible.

P.S. Credit where credit is due. Buzz took this picture of me in front of a reconstruction of the Wright brothers' first airplane.

Great tribute. Dads are the best. I lost my best friend 11 years ago, and I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone to tell him something. Hug your Dad for me.
I'm not a praying person, but I will do some good in the world today, hoping for the buttefly effect to reach around the world.

That would be a two gun salute, correct?

Kudo to Buzz - that's a very relaxed & comfortable-looking picture of you. Sends the message you were having a good day.

Have fun rockin' out in Kokomo! Maybe they can coordinate all of the stoplights in honor of your pops!

Franklin, I have been reading your blog from the beginnig and just loving you. I think you are an amazing human being. I don't think I ever wrote a comment because every time I wrote, it all sounded "stalkerish", well yesterday I would have sounded crazed.

But today I have to write: Today would have been my dad's 94th birthday. He passed away 10 months ago and we are still very sad.

Hug your dad from me and tell him he did a great job.

Peace, brother.

Hey, IIRC, there's a llama farm just south of Kokomo on 31. Just sayins'. And tell Dolores to be careful up there. Those small town boys won't know how to act around her.

Rebecca, they will NEVER time the lights in Kokomo. It's written into the city by-laws.

You and Sue are so very lucky to still have your parents. I know you tell them both you love them. I hope you tell them we all think they did a great job with both of you.

Please wish your dad a very happy birthday and many more (all blessed with health and security).
