I said I would post the camp photos later this week, and I will. Just cross your legs and wait.
Also, regarding two bitchy comments on yesterday's cartoon, my calves actually do look like that, Jon and Joe, and I would think you might have noticed. I'm quite hurt by your inattentiveness and will require consolation gifts of expensive chocolate and/or yarn.
In the meantime, this is a rough of a possible shop design inspired by my recent forays into the hinterlands of Indiana and Wisconsin.
Whatcha think?

Isn't that properly - '_may_ I have your yarn?'
;)
Delightful blog, the Yarn Harlot mentioned you in a recent post and sent me scurrying to visit.
Karen
I'm wondering what it was about those forays into the hinterlands that got you wondering about the rapture.
One wonders what you would think about if you came to visit me in the backlands of Ontario.
I think you have a more shapely tuchas.
LOVE IT.
I'd buy that one.
Carol
I'd rather have the cat with the ball of yarn saying, "uh-oh."
I have three cats and I can hear the smelly alpaca saying the same thing.
LOVE IT!
Great idea, regardless of the grammar. But IMO it would best reflect your talent if you gave it more detail. And it's a good idea, since many executors or survivors would not recognize the value of all 'that yarn stuff'. LOL!
I'm a daily reader, and have spread the word to many knitterly friends. Thanks for all the giggles, hoots and guffaws!
That angel has a fiendish gaze.
Honey, if your picture is correct, then you shouldn't call them calves...them there are full-grown cows.
But, now that I've really insulted, I have to say I love anything that talks about after the rapture. Unfortunately, my stash will be safe, as I won't be floating to heaven during that timeframe.
oh dear that is positively impish isn't it..heheh Yep it's a great concept. Clean up the grammar, pop in a nice sketch and you have a winner..
Oh boy wouldn't that one just drive my cousins crazy..ehhe
and.. the answer is.. why sure you can have it.. you will need something to keep ya busy!hehehheh

Who says a funny t-shirt has to be grammatically correct?
But I agree with catbookmom, I want more detail in the drawing. Or is it "May I have more details in the drawing?"
Praying for the Rapture so I can take your yarn.
LOL! you are too funny
DO IT!!!!!!
Too funny! I grew up in that particular, um.... "milieu", so I know just how seriously that's taken. Might I assume that you expect to be "left behind?"
Love it! BTW thought you might be interested to know just how influential you must be: 18 July you blog about Peaches, 26 July The Guardian (UK newspaper) has a page about Peaches...reckon one of their journalists hangs out at the Panoptican?!!

Can I just be EXTREMELY rude and say that potentially - just potentially, mind you - any folks taken, uh, "up" by the rapture will leave behind only nasty acrylic-y yarns that we heathens still left won't ever want???
Ooooh! Ooooh! I want it in a bumper sticker. As a pagan from the hinterlands of which you spoke I think it's a hoot :-)
OMG Susan!!! I was SO thinking that very thing!!!
But I would still buy it, LOVE it!!! :)
Aaaahhhhh....listening to you girls quibble makes me miss my days of being a hag. :)
since I am sure to be left WAY behind, I plan to visit all yarn stores now vacated by those who have been "chosen" and take ALL the yarn!! Well, except the crappy acrylic stuff. I'm just hoping its not like "The Twilight Zone" where the guy breaks his glasses.
i had a nostalgic momenr reading about knitting camp in your posts.
maybe your current rapture topic was inspired by seeing 'jesus on the ball' and/or 'jesus on the box' in marshfield???
i'd buy the t-shift or bumpersticker--and btw, i think the acrylic yarn would melt during the rapture, leaving only the natural fibers.
Franklin, please, please make your angel into a bumper sticker. I would buy a gross.
Reaction to your rapturous creature: to me, it looks both too pious and too smug to be the one staying behind. I would think its caption would be, "Come the rapture, you can have my yarn". For YOUR caption, I'd like to see a face that has seen more greys and more fun. It is too bland, I think.
I'm ambiguous about the costume. Given that the speaker plans to be around after the Rapture, there's a nice irony to it. On the other hand, after being inuNdated with angel cards, pins, magnets, stickers, window dingle-danglle thingies etc. etc., I wouldn't have looked twice at this cartoon if I hadn't known the source. In fact, I was initially repelled by the image. Maybe not the best sales strategy.
As to the grammar, I like the caption as written. Aside from being common speech, it's also accurate. Only those who stay here can get the yarn.
On to your posterior and legs - of course the drawing is accurate. You work out 2 hours a day.
I'm a new reader and grateful to Queer Joe that he led me to you. Grateful to you, too. Thank you both.
I love that graphic!!
The graphic seems a bit too cutsie (and phallic?) Maybe just the text with a tilted halo on the upper left corner of the "R" in Rapture.
JMHO
I second the bumper sticker idea -- which would look wunnerful down here in the bible belt!
Love It. Love It. Love It!!!!
you know what? leave the grammar alone. do you have ANY idea how many of us midwesterners say "can" instead of "may?" it's perfect!
That one I would definitely buy, especially if you can make her a little... well... dirtier. You know.
I too say leave the grammar alone. Sometimes realism is all that matters.
Oh, you'll most likely get hate mail for this one -- and I'll most likely have rocks thrown at me for displaying it -- but I did burst out laughing when I saw it.
PS, I'm green with envy about knitting camp -- luckily the color looks good on me -- thanks for sharing
Very cute. But in my case, in case of rapture I'm just TAKING your damn yarn.
in case of rapture...will we be seeing this in panopticon shop? Hope so! But you need to add buttons!
Judi Dench - I remember an article - she DOES knit!
I think you need to leave it "can" as well..."may" is just too damn -well- angelic. Not sure about the graphic, maybe leave her as is except to add horns or a barbed tail!? Something to play with for sure.
And reserve the first boxful of bumper stickers for me!
I could use this here in Texas.... Except those who expect to be raptured would probably prematurely poke me with their Bateses or Bamboos.
I LOVE it.
I love this. May I use it as a LiveJournal icon?
