Fiber, Art

If you'll be in Chicago tomorrow night, there's a stitch-and-you-know-what going down at:
The Museum of Contemporary Art
220 East Chicago Avenue
from 5:30-8 p.m. I'll be there, and so will Aidan (feet permitting).

The last one was a hoot. There were easily 60 knitters. Should the spirit move you, you can also wander around the galleries and soak up the art - the whole joint is free to the public on Tuesday nights.

Say hello if you see me. I'm dreadfully shy and would very much appreciate it.

I will have to try it one of these months, but I have something important tomorrow that requires me to drive in. I suppose I could hoof it up to the MCA and then back down again and drive home... we'll see.

He lies. He's not "dreadfully shy."

Maybe a bit reserved. Maybe. But that's a stretch.

Two comments:

1)My husband's predecessor, in his art historical post at the University of Birmingham, once gave a talk to the Anatomy Dep't. He began by saying, "I don't know much about anatomy, but I know what I like."

2) Blocking is FUN. You have nothing to fear, young and spry as I am sure you are. There was a time when I thought a pass with the steam iron would do as well. It won't. But it doesn't matter. Blocking is FUN.

3) Thank you for your remarks about DHL. The initial screen asked me where I was -- well, I mean, obviously, I'm here in Ednburgh, but since they'd asked, and since that's where the package was going, I said, China. And the next screen was in Chinese.

Love, Jean

I DO know something about art (or aht, whichever you prefer) and I STILL wouldn't knit that thing a sweater.

Jackson Pollock Fair Isle doesn't really appeal to me either. But I have seriously considered knitting the Cosmic Background.

Don't ask. Wish I lived in Chicago, sweetiepie.

Have fun. I'll think of you, here in darkest Massachusetts. (Dark, but getting lighter all the time. A belated happy Groundhog Day to all.)

I'm pretty sure that statue could wear the sweater that Marge made.

You know, it doesn't need a sweater. It needs a Thneed!

What an awesome idea!! I think that would be a total hoot. They should do that at the art gallery here.
Amazing cartoon.
