Top off your egg nog, put up your feet and let the sweet strains of our Christmas medley brush away the winter blues.
Take it away, kids!
Oh, the mantel clock's tick-tocking,
But you still haven't finished that stocking,
So until you knit the toe,
One more row, one more row, one more row!
While shepherds knit their socks by night
All seated in a group,
An angel of the Lord came down
And taught them Magic Loop.
Santa baby,
Slip a sailor under the tree for me.
With a bottle of gin,
Santa baby.
And while you're at it slip me his twin.
Happy Holidays, y'all. Keep safe and warm. Thank you for all the comfort and joy you've brought me in 2007.
See you on the other side with reports on my Christmas knitting and last night's wonderful 1000 Knitters shoot at Purl Diva in Brunswick, Maine.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for making my year a little brighter :-)
Okay, that just filled me to the bursting point with Christmasy spirit. And encouraged me to finish the last little bit of Tuck's sweater touch up. You'll get to see it in the morning. :-)
Merry Christmas to you too, Franklin.
Hey -- I resemble that cartoon --- one more row, one more row, one more row!!!
Looking forward to more great cartoons in 2008!
May all your Fiber Fantasies be fulfilled... dweet dreams.
Happy Holidays to you as well, Franklin. Thank you for your wonderful wit, talents and intellect.
Right back atcha, kid.
Have a lovely Christmas, Franklin, and a Happy New Year while you're at it. And thanks for all the laughs in 2007.
Is it too late to ask Santa to put a sailor under the tree for me too?
Merry Christmas Franklin! Thanks for adding fun to 2007.
Usually a lurker, but I laughed so hard I just couldn't stay in hiding.
Thank you for sharing your gifts of knitting and photography and laughter with us all year! And please take that belt away from Dolores before she gets in too much trouble and has to be bailed out. It gets kind of expensive.
Merry Christmas!
Off to knit, with "One More Row" bouncing in my head!
I am so jealous! I will be at the Purl Diva in a week, just missed your event! :-(
Merry Christmas to you, too, Franklin. I've given up on all the unfinished projects, and am going to spend the rest of the holiday with family & playing with our new lambs. Hope yours is wonderful, too. :-)
Merry Christmas Franklin, I've loved reading your blog this year, I'm so glad I found you!
(Oh, that sounds SOOOO cheesy!)
Nic xx
Merry Christmas to you, too, Franklin. you've given this last year a lot of laughs, for me.
Merry Christmas, Franklin, and may the coming year bring you only good things (like printings 6 through 10 of the book!). Thanks for all the smiles.
Merry Christmas to all the cast and crew ... you have brought delight this past year. Have a happy and healthy New Year!
Franklin - your imagination is the best gift the inter-knit could ever have received!
Merry Christmas to you and all the characters that flow from your pen.
I love Dolores' song best. You know, the first five or so times that I heard Santa Baby, I thought she was saying sailor!
Again, it was nice to meet you, and I can't wait to see the finished project!
slip me his twin?
Don't you know that the FDA has mandated that if a man has slept even once with another man since 1977 he cannot donate blood. That's just to give you an idea how risky homosexual sex is. But who cares...the U.S. pharmaceutical advertising industry would like us to believe that a person can live indefinitely with the HIV virus, when it's being shown more and more that's not the case. Be careful out there....and we're not just talking using condoms.
Merry Christmas! You've helped make 2007 a little brighter, for which I thank you. Here's to a wonderful 2008!
Franklin, a Happy Merry Christmachanukwanzaakah to you (and crew) too! Yeah, what they all said, double for me. And listen, I'd be happy to donate to a bail fund for Dolores; she does and says what we'd all like to do and say. (Don't tell her said that, though.) I happily accept your gift of Delicious Anticipation until the book comes out.
Thank you for all the delightful moments and may the deity of your choice shine its divine light upon you!
LOLROTFSTC!!!!!
(laughing out loud rolling on the floor scaring the cats)
Many of us have an inner Dolores. Thanks for releasing her and letting her ride!
Next song, Joy to the squirrels!
Happy Holidays to you as well. I'm telling everyone that my favorite gift this year was being able to meet you at Purl Diva. Santa really did get my letter...and I wasn't even all that good!
happiest of holidays to you and the entire crew!
May you and yours have the happiest of holidays. Your creativity and humour are a gift for which I am thankful. Not anonymous, Bev in TN
Merry Christmas to you and yours, too. It was great fun to meet you and become one of the 1,000! I am hoping that today's sketches and songs will help me explain Dolores, Harry, and the cheerful insanity that is the Panopticon to my partner. Somehow, "chain-smokin', whiskey-swillin', salty-talkin' ewe" didn't quite do it.
--#8 from the Purl Diva shoot
Yes. Definitely take the belt away from Dolores - I can't tell if she just took it OFF...or she's going to use it on one of those sailors under her tree or what.
Franklin - all the best for a safe, happy, and peaceful (well, with Delores around, I guess we can forget THAT)holiday season.
Merry Christmas! I will chuckle over that last one for a long long time!
(((hugs)))
Thank you, Franklin; I'm now helpless with laughter. Again. Thanks for all other such occasions through the last year...oh, yeah, and all that knitting, too. ;) Have a wonderful Christmas, your and your family! I hope Harry doesn't run off to Canada with a rugged ball of Maine yarn, and Dolores doesn't scare any fishermen or logger types wandering around. [vbg] Well...one can hope...
Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee, Franklin!
Those cartoons and verses were just priceless--loved them.
Happy Holidays! I do envy your lyric-doubling side, which is rollicking, though it pales in comparison to how you've (ahem) belted out your latest Dolores holiday theme. That tree-riding sketch sure tickled MY fancy, YEE HAW!
Is it wrong that I sang along?
Best wishes to you and yours, dear boy, and hold on to your hand-knitted hat! This next year's gonna be a biggie.
Much love from me and the rats.
I wish Santa would put my Sailor under the tree for me! I miss him :( Only 6 more weeks to go and he will be home!
Merry Christmas!
Merriest of Christmases and Happiest of New Years.
Happy Holidays! I just love the little comics!
Well, danged if that didn't just lift the bar on Christmas spirit right into the stratosphere! Hilarious. Thanks for the cheer and Merry Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas to you too, Franklin.
And a happy and merry one to you, too, Franklin! Thanks so much for the Christmas laugh.
Merry Christmas to you and your group. :) I do hope you are going to be sharing your newest drawings on some shirts. Cause omg I so want. hehehe
Merry Christmas, Franklin. It was great to meet you at Purl Diva this weekend and to be a part of such a cool project!
Merry Christmas Franklin!! HUGS!!!
Merry Christmas back at ya! Best wishes for the coming year. Thanks for the blog and all you do. Hugs, MaryB
usually just lurk -- but I want to delurk right now & thank you for all the much needed laughter this year. Wish *I* could ask for a sailor or two ...
Thank you for the gifts--the laughter and photos--you gave us this year, Franklin. May you and yours have a splendiferous 2008.
(((hugs)))
Merry and Happy! Enjoy your Maine photo shoot.
Franklin - How I wish I had seen this post before spending the day with my biological family. It would've made it more fun, humming the tunes...they would've been clueless as to why I was smiling! Of course, my Family of Choice would have joined in and howled with laughter. Blessings to you in the coming New Year. - Joe, in Wyoming
Somehow it fits for Dolores to be singing that particular song...
Many thanks for the chuckles.
*sigh* My Christmas is now complete.
Thank you.
"An angel of the Lord came down
And taught them Magic Loop"
hahaha!
Thanks angel and thanks Franklin for making me laugh lots this year!
Mistletoe on Dolores' panties?
Goodness!
And a gigantic New Year's Extravaganzapalooza to you and the Panopticon cast and crew as well...
Thanks for the the smiles and the giggles you supplied in 2007, and especially for the guffaws which without you would be in much shorter supply.
Oh, what it must be like to inhabit (no pun intended) your brain for just one day! What a busy, joyful place it must be. A bit noisy, though, for my taste, what with all that cavorting and caterwalling.
Wishing you peace, health and abundance in 2008.
A joyous new year, Franklin. Thank you for your blogging, for Dolores (well, she can take that bow by herself, I suppose!*ha*) and for your generosity in sharing your life and your gorgeous knitting with us. If you are ever in the Twin Cities.....
Very useful material, much thanks for the article.
Of course, what a great site and educative posts, I will bookmark your site. All the Best!
WOW! I Love it...
and i thing thats good for you >>
