Harry's Home Movies: Transatlantic Intermezzo

The first episode of Harry's video chronicle has shot past 3,500 views in just a few days. Very gratifying. Thank you.

In editing the rest, we discovered there's so much weird good stuff from Sock Summit that it's best to give the centerpiece of the trip–our voyage on the Cunard liner Queen Mary 2–its own installment. No knitting in this one, but there is a hint of what's to come near the end.

If you would care to experience the luscious filling of crème chantilly that separated our two gooey, high-calorie layers of fiber festival, please click over to my YouTube Channel and make a young ball of sock yarn very happy.

    Franklin, you're as daft as a bucket of ferrets!! Love the movies, Harry, and can't wait for the next installment!

  2. I think it's safe to say that neither "Titanic" nor "The Poseidon Adventure" was playing in the lounge during the crossing, yes?

    That looks wonderful. But I would be thinking about "Titanic" and "The Poseidon Adventure" THE WHOLE WAY!!!

    word verification: woresser, as in "Harry is none the woresser for the trip."

  3. Bravo, bravo! Encore! Who can dye yarn when there's another home movie of Harry's to watch? Looking forward to the third installment.

  6. Oh Harry, you certainly do live a blessed life! I wish I was as well traveled as you... perhaps next year, I too will be able to attend Knit Nation and hang out on the QM2... well, a girl can dream anyway.

    Can't wait to see the final funky installment of your adventures.

    How nice that Harry was able to wear his best ball-band again after the wedding.

    Harry, what a great movie-maker you are! But when you showed the dining room with the high ceiling and all the tables, all I could think about was Titanic (which I could not watch, btw -- had to leave the theater). Glad your trip was pleasant and completely non-Titanic-like!

  9. I saw the QM2 docked in NYC in May and was amazed by how big it is.

    ::sigh::

    This vid just makes me want to do the crossing so badly.

    Perhaps if I don't buy yarn for 3 years I can afford it?

    ::sigh::

  10. Sock Summit was delightfully weird! Can't wait for the next installment!

    I'm with Lisa. I'm still scarred by the Poseidon Adventure. It was nice to actually see the QM2 in action though. As a result of "PA" I don't think I'll ever be able to attempt that crossing!

    I hope you're going to tell us why there was a stargate at Sock Summit?

  13. You know, in the back of my head, I've been trying to figure out for awhile who Harry reminds me of. This morning, I finally got it--Piglet! (The proper A. A. Milne Piglet, of course.) Love all of your missives, Harry!

  15. Very funny. I was wondering what was really different between the Queen Mary 2 and a cruise ship in the Caribbean. So showy!

  16. As a young child (age 4), I was a passenger aboard the original QM for a crossing from England to the US. I don't really remember it, but I'm sure its luxuries would pale in comparison to the newer version. Harry, you did such a lovely job of showing us the ship, now I want to take another transatlantic crossing!

    Although I admit I was a bit disappointed you didn't give the camera to Franklin so we could see you dressed in your best ball band. I'm sure you were the handsomest sock yarn aboard! (I understand why you didn't show us Delores; let's just say that alcohol flows pretty freely aboard ship, and leave it at that. :)

  22. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
