Yet Another Postcard

Akron

Postmarked: Findlay, Ohio; August 26

Life on the road is becoming tedious. We lost Victorine somewhere near Dayton. She may still be in the ladies room at Denny's. I don't know. I don't care. Tootsie and I got into a tiff over the uses of metaphor in Aristophanes while we were cruising through Sandusky and he's still pouting. What a baby. Victorine has your address so if she shows up lock the liquor cabinet and for God's sake don't let her sleep on my cushion until you've hosed her down in the parking garage. Love D

  2. OK, how did they get from Mt. Hope, to Sandusky, to Findley?

If I see them down here in Indy I'll shoo them back up your way.

    Or not.

Unless they make a sharp turn towards Detroit and make a break for the border, I think the summer of love is coming to an end.

This may be the only blog on the internet that has passed an animated cartoon sheep through both Findlay and Sandusky. I am sure that both towns are now lying on their backs in darkened rooms, trying to figure out what hit them. When I'm in Findlay next week, I will look for tufts of wool on the lampposts.

  6. Bit o' trivia: There is a veterinary clinic in Findlay that does only alpacas and llamas. There are that many alpacas in that area.

Umm-there are some rumors that they are much closer to home than you may suspect. Some have sworn to sightings of the whole crew at El Taco Loco on Lawrence Ave. Not a pretty vision as far as I can tell--fleeces stained with pico de gallo, galoise packages strewn about. Oh, and then there was the embarassing Lam baaa baaa competition led by Ms. D herself. Why, it's said, she quite wore out both the bus boy and the dishwasher. Then the cook began cavorting with.... Well you can just imagine...

Dolores! Dahling! Come home, dear. I'm pretty sure that you've been missed and will be welcomed back with open arms. Well, as soon as you get sprayed down in the parking garage, that is.

  10. I'm sure I saw a tawdry-looking sheep hitchhiking by Rockford on Saturday. Maybe she overshot Chi by a few miles?

Having grown up outside Cleveland, I think Dolores displays a fine sense of irony in choosing a postcard of Akron inviting us to "Experience the Enchantment".

It does sound as though she's making her way home, in a roundabout fashion. And will Tootsie be sharing the cushion once they arrive?

  12. I'm sure that Delores got into more than her fair share of trouble at Adams Street. The stories I could tell about that place from when I lived in Massillon. Go Tigers!

    Hello from Dayton!

    No sign of Victorine...

  14. I went to college in Akron. You better hope Dolores doesn't spike your tea with brown acid when she gets home. Maybe you should strip-search her.

    Good luck.

    Hahahaha.

  17. Findlay, OH is home to livestock that are used in teaching at Ohio State vet school. Lots of camelids (llamas, alpacas, hybrids), horses, others.

The mind boggles at what the newest OSU vet school grads are learning there now...

Wish I hadn't graduated a couple of years ago.
