Brenda Dayne Regrets

Well, she doesn't regret it yet, but the week is still young.

If you listen to Cast On: A Podcast for Knitters, then you know that the hostess and creator, Brenda Dayne, has been taking a little bitty break and allowing guest hosts to fill in for her.

Guess who the next guest host is, for the episode slated to appear this Friday?

Yep.

Broadcast Preview

So far assembling the show is going well, except that Dolores is being peevish because she wants to do a harmonica solo and I'm putting my foot down. I'm not certain whether you'll hear her or not. Kinda depends on whether she's already passed out for the evening.

But there will be two (count 'em) essays on knitting from non-knitters, plus a whole lot of me.

She's a brave gal, that Brenda.

    Franklin,

    You might point out to Delores that the Welsh know how to deal with sheep, as described by Thomas Love Peacock in his glorious poem, The War-Song of Dinas Vawr, which begins

    The mountain sheep are sweeter,
    But the valley sheep are fatter;
    We therefore deem’d it meeter
    To carry off the latter.

    And then after several stanzas of murder and mayhem, ends ...

    Ednyfed, King of Dyfed,
    His head was borne before us;
    His wine and beasts supplied our feasts,
    And his overthrow, our chorus.

    Delores may decide to keep a low profile.

  4. Congrats! I can't wait to hear your podcast!! And maybe you can find a way to compromise with Delores, a little blip. I mean, you'd think after all these years she wouldn't be looking for all this attention and would rather keep a low profile? Maybe she has a little Lucy Ricardo in her, that she wants to still be part of the show no matter what.

    I still think my idea for you to do a VIDEO podcast is a good one.

    Tim

    P.S. Please tell Dolores I don't appreciate booty calls from her at 3 a.m. on work nights (or any night for that matter!).

    Damn. I spelled Dolores's name wrong. Our Lady of Sorrows ... it doesn't seem to have done your Dolores any harm, but what a name to burden a child with! I have heard worse, though. A friend who was a nurse in an Acadian community encountered a woman (the youngest of 16) named "Victime."

    Why is Delores starting to remind me of the "Unicorn in the Garden?"

  13. Cool! But I want to hear Dolores' solo.

  14. So, I imagine Dolores sounding something like Marge Schott, ie: someone who smoked Camel non-filtereds for the better part of her life.

    But, I bet she can wail on the harmonica like Elwood Blues.

  15. I eagerly await.

    You probably know by now, but I met Sue last Saturday. You've got a swell sister, but I expect you know that by now.

  17. Actually, I would be rather interested in hearing a harmonica solo from Dolores. But I am still more interested in hearing what *you* have to say. Woo Hoo!
