Okay, so I may be Welsh for the duration, but I'm still really a Chicago knitter.
So how could I say no when asked to make them a button?
I hope you like it, fellow citizens. Urbs in horto all the way.
(By the way, I regret extremely this is the only button I'm able to make right now. I'm up to my rosy pink nipples in work. But thank you for thinking of me.)
oh franklin when you talk like that! the mind just bloggles.
ReplyDeleteMobeelvp!
wow, franklin...that's lovely! i was going to watch these olympics from the sidelines, but the flames on those needles are hard to resist. i might have to think of a project now, just so i can snag the button...
ReplyDeleteLove the button - Thanks for making one!
ReplyDeleteits adorable! Go Team Chicago!
ReplyDeleteI'd expect you to have brown nipples, really. ;-)
ReplyDeletere yesterday's post--I am glad someone else is afraid of blocking. I just can not seem to get it right. I think I am too gentle with it, but the idea of beating up my project is just too much.
ReplyDeleteI should mention, for anybody else who is thinking of dealing with lace blocking, that Marilyn (The Knitting Curmudgeon) has a really excellent description of the lace blocking process on her blog at www.knittingcurmudgeon.com. It'll be one of my chief references when I block the sample shawl.
ReplyDeleteThank you Franklin! Team Chicago Rocks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making the Chicago button for us Franklin!
ReplyDeleteRegarding blocking lace, I completed my first lace project (Lotus Blossom Shawl) last month. The knitting intimidated me, but the blocking wasn't a piece of cake either. I started and finished the blocking while listening to an episode of Cast On.
I have a queen size bed in the guest room on which I block, and luckily the shawl fit perfectly. At least one of my knitting friends has asked to "use my bed" to block the shawl she's working on. Does it sound really slutty if I said you could come over and use my bed (to block) when you finally get it the shawl done? :-)
I presume by your comments that it is ok to use your "team Chicago" button, just want to be clear on that given recent circumstances. GO TEAM CHI-TOWN!!!
ReplyDeleteBut of course, Miss Luna Blu. The button is for anybody who wants it, provided they store it in their own spaces and don't steal my bandwidth.
ReplyDeleteGo Chicago! Knitters on Fire!
Wow! Your button gave me the idea to paint some flames on my needles!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great button, Franklin, even if the off-hand comment about your "rosy pink nipples" immediately pushed it out of my mind...
