Look, Mommy!

I made some yarn. All by myself. Except Carol did the coloring part.

This is the green Wensleydale, after a mostly successful encounter with the Navajo ply process. Thank you, Black Bunny Fibers! You changed my life! I'm going to start having my paychecks sent directly to you! I don't need food, clothing, or shelter!

I have to go now, because I stepped on my glasses and need to get new ones in order to see clearly beyond two feet. I'm rather hoping I don't overshoot the optometrist's office down in the Loop and wind up in Missouri.

Oh, no, Franklin, you've joined the Insidious Blethering Spinners.
For real this time.
I am feeling betrayed.
Broken.

fantastic!
But how will Dolores be kept in cigarettes and martinis if you send all your paychecks away?

Hey - Missouri's just a hop, skip, and a jump from me! That wouldn't be so bad, would it?

I'm lovin' that color o'green, by the way. Loveitloveitlove it.

Gawd, I love that colour.

Nice yarn, Franklin. Not bad, given that last week you told me your spinning sucked wind.

The yarn is a beautiful color, and it looks so good on your niddy noddy.

It looks great but, please, don't call me Mommy.

Check Dolores hooves for glass ..maybe your credit card bill came in the post.If she looks like Mutton dressed as lamb she might have been shopping when you were out.

Is it time for an out-of-state friend to get his orafice to Chicago to do an intervention? You seem dangerously hooked. Will one soon find you out on the corner pushing yarn?

That looks really nice. I'm impressed. I thought it would take a long time for a new spinner to be able to create something decent.

I suppose I should have known better considering who it is...

How can you get to the optometrist's and get new glasses if you're sending all your money to Carol?

Nice spinning. Ignore Kathy.

Beautiful yarn!

What are you going to make with it?

I see someone else beat me to the suggestive niddy noddy joke

Forgoing food shelter and clothing but not eyesight? Well, yes, I suppose you need to see to avoid the spinning wheel..... needle. Isn't that what did Sleeping Beauty in?

Pretty yarn.

Totally brilliant yarn, Franklin! I love the color. I can see a wheel in my future--a spindle just won't be enough for too much longer.

I'm green with envy (sorry had to say it).

Oh, Franklin, you are a tremendous spinner. How'd you get so good so fast? You shall never have an empty bobbin as long as I'm around.

Where's Dolly today? Shtupping Mr. Ramstein in 1568B?

Love the yarn. I hope you don't step on your glasses too often, now that your paychecks are being sent away!

Love the yarn...solve the glasses problem - get LASIK. I had it done Tuesday night...truly amazing.

I love the yarn and the color. It is beautiful, you did a splended job. Did you take care of your eye glass problem?

Anonymous said...

Ooh...pretty! You must have done that before you stepped on your glasses!

Nice work, Franklin! Isn't spinning FUN???? Do you know what you want to make with it, or are you waiting for the yarn (or Dolores) to tell you? When the time is ripe to use the yarn, ENJOY!

Regards,

Paula

You done good! I do wish you lived closer, though. Our spinning guild has a few men in it and we really enjoy their company.

Your Mommy should be proud! I've been pondering Dolores nature lately. She seems like a very dirty girl. Hasn't she been skirted?? All that smoke and booze on her fleece, quite a scouring job for you when she finally gives in to the shearing! Were those your glasses she's been wearing? Ah well, artists and nearsightedness seem to happen. Could she be a Parisienne artiste? Probably from the south of France, she found she wanted bigger pastures and bright lights?

I have been reading your blog all week (I stumbled upon you via a link from a page I don't even remember) and just had to quit lurking in the shadows and tell you I think you are a genius! All your blog entries are so funny...Thanks for all the laughs! I am sure I will be back for more!

Beautiful! When will you start selling yarn?

If you do wind up homeless because of your yarn fetish, we'll make sure you have a place to live. I certainly won't make you make up one of these: http://www.bagbed.com; no matter how warm they say they are.

Your comment about Missouri kind of freaked me considering what's gong on with my other blog friend. Weird.

Well done!

That yarn is absolutely gorgeous. I am in lust/envy.

If Dolores inspires this kind of spinning, do you think that she'd ever want to take a vacation to Ohio? I live in a historic district next to all the bars....

Hey!

Finally got a moment to stop in. That Yarn is beautiful! It's so peaceful to look at.

So when's the handspun sweater coming?
